PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND – Queen Victoria Collection, 1860s–1870s: Attractive specialized collection of early PEI issues, predominantly mint, with useful duplication and multiples. Includes imperforate and perforated Pence issues, 1d, 2d, 3d, 4d, 6d and 9d values, later decimal issues including 1¢, 2¢, 3¢, 4¢, 6¢ and 12¢, with several blocks of four and pairs. Also accompanied by some nice early PEI covers, franked with 2d and 3d Pence issues, including dated cancellations and destinations within the Maritimes. Condition varies as expected for this challenging classic material. Mixed condition, with some stamps hinged and others Never Hinged (NH). A worthwhile old-time holding with considerable catalogue value and excellent potential for specialist study.
