Nfld 1870 $2 Gold "3 Dot" PCGS Choice Mint State-63. Of extraordinary importance, this coin is the single finest known (“SOLO”) example at PCGS, with no other specimens graded at this level or finer by the service. Such absolute top-pop status places this coin in a category of elite rarity, highly desirable to advanced collectors and registry participants alike. A truly exceptional example of one of Newfoundland’s most coveted gold issues, this 1870 $2 “3 Dot” is beautifully framed by strong, lustrous fields that showcase complementary, natural coloration. The specimen exhibits remarkable clarity and brilliance across its surfaces, with sharply struck details that highlight the artistry of this early Newfoundland coinage. The rich russet hue is exceptionally deep, evenly saturated, and uniformly applied, enhancing both the coin’s visual impact and its overall appeal. Privately sold for over $80,000, this coin represents a combination of rarity, condition, and eye appeal that is seldom offered. It is a spectacular opportunity for the discerning collector seeking a top-quality example of a historically significant Newfoundland gold issue. Expect spirited bidding for a coin of this caliber—a variety that remains surprisingly undervalued given its extreme scarcity in high-grade condition.

Souvenir Token; 1974 Quebec - Rene Levesque Ecu Souvenir in Gold, 15.2 gm, 999 f...

Souvenir Token; 1974 Quebec - Rene Levesque Ecu Souvenir in Gold, 15.2 gm, 999 fine gold. Only 500 pieces struck and issued. Issued in 1977 to mark the first anniversary of the historic electoral victory of the Parti Québécois on November 15, 1976, this Multhéritage souvenir medallion reflects a significant moment in Quebec’s political history. The issue was carefully marketed to collectors in three distinct formats: a strictly limited edition of 500 numbered specimens in 24-karat gold, 5,000 numbered examples in .999 fine silver, and a copper striking of undocumented mintage. Scarcity varies considerably by metal, with the gold and silver editions formally controlled, while the copper issue remains less precisely quantified, adding an element of uncertainty and appeal for specialists. Rarely seen and offered.
