The raids of 1870 ie: the Battle of Eccles Hill (near the Quebec-Vermont border on May 25, 1870), involved several Canadian militia units from various towns, including Three Rivers (now known as Trois-Rivières, Quebec), the 9th Batalion of Volunteer Militia Rifles (Three Rivers Provisional Battalion), Trois-Rivières Artillery & some local Volunteer Guards such as Home Guards and/or Volunteer Rifle Companies.
