North American “Indian Chiefs” Medal 1814, George III Large Silver Peace with suspension loop. Silver, by T. Wyon Jr. 76 mm. Obv. Bust of George III facing right, Rev. Royal Arms, crest, supporters and motto, 1814 below. (Jamieson 24-6, Breton #19). Previously sold by Bonhams in 2004, this example is said to have been found on the Detroit River and possibly given to the Chief of a Canadian Band for his service during the War of 1812.
