1911 $500 DC-19 Legacy Currency Grading Very Fine-20. The Holy Grail of the Dominion of Canada Series. Ownership of the 1911 $500 note represents the ultimate collecting achievement in the field of Canadian Currency. This would be an important addition to a major Canadian Museum, financial institution collection or a major highlight of a personal collection. This may be the most imporessive and most significant Dominion of Canada banknote ever offered in our auction. A 1911 $500 note in VF condition has transacted in a public auction in 2008 and sold for $322,000 US dollars. There is no example of an issued $500 note of the 1911 issue in the Bank of Canada's National Currency Collection, or in any other museum collection. The museum does have a 1911 Specimen and Proof examples of the $500 note. The offered example grades Very Fine, and has bright colours and good body. The centering is decent.
